Definitly rugby - just look at a Rugby players ears and nose compared with American Football players

You get a load of body armour and a helmet to play American Football, most rugby players just wear a gum-shield

I would say that Rugby has to be a lot tougher that Football because in Rugby, you need to keek you eye more on the ball than the players around you as in football, you need to keep your eyes on the players around you than on the ball.

Rugby also requires more endurance. All the players have to play offense AND defense.Unlike american football they dont take a water break after every play,Its continous battling for 40 mins then half-time then there back on the field for another 40 mins.

Rugby, all the way. american football is really just an extreme alteration of rugby, and they use pads whereas in rugby, it's muscle on muscle.

For those who think American Football is for wusses, remember, before pads, American football resulted in DEATHS per game. DeathS plural, as in more than one, as in johnny gets tackled, his lifeless body is removed, its still 2nd and 7. How many Rugby deaths do you hear about? Take away the pads in American football and it quickly becomes true Murderball.
