Why do rugby players always get naked?

Out of all the sports it seems that rugby players take every chance they get to strip nude. For calendars, team initiations, mooning the public or just generally when out drinking. There's also an annual nude rugby match played in New Zealand. What is it about rugby that makes its players wanna hang nude all the time?

Lots of people, (not just rugby players), get naked for charity and things, raises dosh.

Perhaps rugby players are just comfortable being naked. That's cool too.

While understanding the climate of wanting to do something for charity, it is really a sad reflection of how morality has taken a sudden downward spiral. It is tasteless and tawdry and thrives upon a basic human sexual instinct. Isn't what they are doing actually selling their body for money? I suppose it's easier to consider doing this "as a team" rather than just one or two doing it but I just can't understand what they are thinking, otherwise. Too many people seem to have little or no shame anymore and I find this sad IMHO.

Pretty sure they mainly do it just for charity. I've never "mooned" or anything of the sort, & nor has any rugby player I know. Maybe because outside the front row they have bodies worth showing off? Haha, I probably would if I wasn't a tighthead.

Always? Maybe sometimes...rugby is kinda homo erotic. A lot of man on man touching, crotch binding, hands in your teamates' shorts. Once a team has bonded on the field sweating and touching together, what's a little nudity?

I notice you didn't mention the Lawn Bowls Women's calendar, or the firemen, or the female hockey players.
